Q&A

Your question, our honest answer.

Q. What exactly is the community group?

We've got a closed Community group on Facebook. Through being a member of it, not only you can connect with other Forest Minion owners, but also you can gain a full insight into Forest Minions, what we are up to, what we are planning etc. Unfortunately due to the potential safety concerns, we do not publish majority of the information on the open social media, which is why in order to join our community group, you must either know us in person, have a minion, be recommended by a Forest Minion owner or simply complete our vetting.

Q. What does it mean to be a licensed breeeder?
Q. Can you tell me more about the pricing?

We always set the prices based on the current prices at the time of advertising. We do not charge *premiums* for having health tested parents, being home breeders or by being licensed as that would be unethical. Prices we set are the prices we believe are fair.

Q. What sort of health guarantees do you offer?

All of our puppies are subject to two separate health checks (with first one being done at around 6 weeks of age while the other one done at 8 weeks of age). We are super strict about the health therefore we always ensure that the parents are healthy and have got hereditary testing done (where applicable). Also as part of our contract you are required to take a puppy to your vet practice for another check up, should the vet find any signs of concerns, we will either cover the visit and address the issue or request that you return puppy back to us for a full refund.

Q. What if I'm unsuccessful with the vetting process?

Should for some reason the vetting not be approved, we will send you a list of our concerns, it's up to you if you then want to address them or not. We are always happy to work with the potential families as long as you are willing to work with us.

We put enormous amount of time and effort into what we do, therefore Forest Minions will never be a type of breeder that you can just ring up and turn up. We want to learn about yourself, just like you should learn about us, because at the end of the day, you are not looking for a commodity but a four legged family member that will be a part of your life.

Q. How long have you been breeding?

We've been involved in breeding for 10 years now, however our story began around 12 years ago after we've lost our four legged family member due to the irresponsible breeder and their negligence.

Q. What breeds do you breed?

When we started, we were known for Yorkshire Terriers but we always had a Maltese and English Cocker Spaniel living with us (we needed a medium size dog to help socialize the puppies with much larger dogs being around them).

In recent years, we've made a decision that we will no longer be involved in Yorkshire Terriers but instead made a decision to transition to Cavalier King Charles Spaniels as they are known for the health issues.

Once the transition will be complete, we will be probably breeding only Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Cockapoos.

We will still have occasional litter of Yorkshire Terriers or Maltipoos until minions will be retired.

Q. How many litters you have a year?

Usually between 5 to 6. Despite the fact that we are licensed, we are not a large scale breeder (as this is the general stereotype associated with licensed breeders) but a small home breeders. If you are a member of our community group, not only you can see all our previous litters but also we publish annual summary.
